MA in Counseling Degree Requirements

The 60 credit MA in Counseling program consists of 15 required core courses and 5 elective courses.  Students may choose to complete the program through full-time or part-time course tracks.  Full-time for the 60 credit hour MA is defined as 9 credit hours per semester (three 3-credit courses) for 3 years, while part-time is 6 credit hours per semester (two 3-credit courses) over 4 years. Full and part-time tracks include summer sessions. To complete the program, a 100 hour practicum (3 credit course) and a 600 hour internship (two 3 credit courses, one completed in the Fall and the second in the Spring of one’s final year) are required. Students seeking the Applied Behavior Analysis or Trauma Studies concentrations take 5 specified elective courses in the area of concentration.

Note: the LPC credential in Pennsylvania requires 60 credits. See PA Licensure board for more details.
