M. Thomas Ridington, '78, MA '81, PhD
Tom Ridington, PhD, is the Executive Vice President for University Relations/Special Assistant to the President of Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. Dr. Ridington has previously contributed to the advancement and development of Eastern University as Senior Vice President and Vice President for Development, and he has directed University advancement programs that include capital campaigns and fundraising with foundations, corporations, and government agencies. He has also filled several interim leadership roles at the University, including University Admissions and the School of Leadership and Development. His current oversight includes the areas of communications, social media, public relations, the university magazine and strategic new venture development. He also serves as institutional partnership liaison with Esperanza College and Openseminary and assistant secretary of the University’s Board of Trustees.

Dr. Ridington completed his PhD in Curricular Studies at the University of Stellenbosch’s Centre for Adult and Higher Education near Cape Town, South Africa. He earned his MAR from Palmer Theological Seminary and his BA from Eastern University. He completed additional studies in higher education at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. He has consulted with numerous nonprofits and NGOs in fundraising, strategic planning and governance. He also helped develop several nonprofit organizations dedicated to deriving solutions to hunger, housing and urban development. He currently serves on two boards, Urban Promise (Camden, NJ) and Spanish with a Vision (Dominican Republic), and as an ESL tutor with Gathering Hope (Malvern, PA).
