ACSM Certified Heath Fitness Specialist Scholarship

Purpose:   This scholarship has been established, through the generosity of an anonymous donor, to support students who have demonstrated interest and aptitude in the field of exercise science, and who seek the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) certification.  The scholarship is designated to cover the cost of the certification exam for individual students who meet the established criteria.  

Criteria: Consideration for this award will go to student who

  • Complete a minimum of 2.0 credits hours in an exercise science  internship
  • Achieve a GPA  of  3.2 or higher
  • Perform service in the Exercise Science Club.
  • Hold a current CPR certification
  • Submit a current resume
  • Provide a brief statement justifying merit in receiving the award
      -  Reasons for seeking certification as a health fitness specialist\narrative about their Christian journey at Eastern and how that will impact their professional endeavors in the field of exercise science. 

Amount: $300.00
