International Relations:

RI 261 Mexican Foreign Policy
This course introduces the basic principles guiding foreign relations between Mexico and the countries forming the international community, including those elements and principles that Mexico follows in its foreign policy decisions. The international effects of Mexico's foreign policy will be examined.

RI 311 Contemporary Latin American
This is one of two courses on Latin America. Topics include the development of the subcontinent since the early 20th century, democratizing processes and current economic reforms.

RI 473 International Economic Relations of Mexico
Studies the evolution and current structure of Mexico's economic relations with the exterior from a thematic and geographical perspective. Trade, financial and technological issues will be highlighted. The different ways in which economic relationships are made with the exterior are identified and analyzed; different issues of international economic relations are discussed.

RI 481 MEXICO - US - CANADA Relations Seminar
Studies Mexico's relationships with the US and Canada from a historical perspective, ending with present day relations. Analyzes and discusses the problems surrounding political, economic and social issues in trilateral relations. Covers process of regional integration.

International Business:

NI 310 Global Business Environment
This course is an introduction to the concept of globalization, examining its advantages and disadvantages. It is focused on elements of the global environment that influence international business. The following topics will be included in this course: politics, law, economics, competitively, socio-cultural influences and geography. The student will develop abilities to evaluate the risk and appeal of business opportunities in a foreign area.
The BA in International Area Studies and Business is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
