This course discusses management and administrative practices (planning, organization, incentives and compensation, strategies and decision making with respect to multicultural human resources) within a global context. There is a strong emphasis on cultural aspects of various world regions and their importance for the effective administration of multinational and global companies. This course develops in the student a greater appreciation for cultural diversity in the world.

LI 273 Spanish American Literature Through the 18TH Century
A monographic course covering literary production in Spanish America from the 16th through the 18th century. The course will include narrative, poetry, theater and other literary genres.
LI 274 19TH Century Spanish American Literature
The study of the literature of the 19th century Independence movements, with special emphasis on essays (Bolivar, Marti, Lizardi) and the establishing of a national literature (in the particular cases of Gaucho literature and Indian narratives).
LI 361 Mexican Literature of the 19TH AND 20TH Centuries
A thorough survey of authors, works and literary trends of 19th century Mexican literature. From the Independence period to Modernism. Special attention will be given to popular literature -women's magazines and newspaper serials- with a view to comparison. An overview of 20th century Mexican literature, including the avant-garde, will be given.

A thorough survey of authors, works and trends in Mexican literature in the last 20 years. The course will include narratives, poetry, theater and other literary genres.
LI 460 New Latin American Narrative
Overview of Boom to present. Representative authors and major tendencies. Special attention will be given to more contemporary authors such as: Piglia, Liendo, Luis Rafael Sanchez, and Skarmeta, among others.

General presentation and analysis of the characteristics of Mesoamerican art primarily in architecture, ceramics, sculpture, painting, and urban design. Comparative study of the main artistic manifestations of the cultures of the Highlands, the Gulf Coast, the West, and the Valley of Oaxaca.
HA 222 Southern Mesoamerican Art
General presentation and analysis of the characteristics of Mayan art developed primarily in what are now Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. Comparative study of the urban design, architecture, ceramics, sculpture, and painting of the largest Mayan cities.
HA 322 Popular Arts
Detailed presentation of the popular artistic expressions of different regions in Mexico during the prehispanic era, the colonial period of New Spain, and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Analysis of modern expressions according to ethnic, social, economic, and cultural realm.
HA 422 Twentieth-Century Mexican Art
Presentation and analysis of the principle trends in art and their characteristics in Mexico during the twentieth century. The Mexican Muralist Movement. Reflection on the role of Mexican artists in the modern art world.
