The Eastern University American Chemical Society (ACS) Chemistry Club is actively involved with our community. We recently conducted hands-on chemistry classes called "Chemistry and Carbon Dioxide" for the fourth-grade class of Philadelphia's Barry Elementary School. In the past, we have offered a variety of hands-on chemistry classes for homeschoolers -- "Adventures in Color", "Polymers and More", and others. The club has also assisted the Frederick Douglass School in Chester, PA in purchasing supplies to start a chemistry laboratory. With the help of an IAG grant, the club assisted the building of a nature trail on campus and purchased recycling bins and a pond water testing kit.
Our past fundraising activities have included donation from homeschooler classes and homecoming stands. We have sold funnel cakes, beaker gel candles, periodic table of cupcakes, recycled paper art, and have raffled off furniture.
