Communication Studies

What We Offer

In the Department of Communication Studies students and faculty grapple with the rich, complex history and theories of communication. We study how this rapidly-evolving field influences the lives of individuals, communities, organizations, and nations. Our study of communication and its myriad manifestations is informed by our Christian faith.

Communication Studies students pursue a B.A. and can focus their departmental studies in:

  • Relational Communication
  • Organizational Communication
  • Public Relations
  • Media Studies
  • Communication Theory

The Communication Studies faculty bring a wealth of experience, a commitment to scholarship, and a passion for teaching to their interactions with students, both in and outside the classroom.

Student Opportunities:

  • Internship Program
  • Los Angeles Film Studies Center
  • Lambda Pi Eta chapter (National Communication Association Honor Society)

“The Communication Studies department has enabled me to grow not just as a student, but as a person as well. Through rigorous courses, a nurturing environment, and professors who are truly invested in their students, I have been able to develop skills I will utilize for the rest of my life.”
