Villanova University ranked by U.S. News & World Report a top 10 Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs
Eastern University has partnered with the College of Engineering at Villanova University in order to provide a 3/2 engineering program. Students will complete 3 years at Eastern, taking Eastern's core as well as foundational courses in the natural sciences, followed by 2 years of engineering courses at Villanova's main campus. Upon completion of the fifth year, the student will receive 2 degrees: A Bachelor of Arts from Eastern in Applied Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the particular engineering program chosen at Villanova. The 3/2 program will provide students with a background at Eastern in which Christian faith is integrated into all academic disciplines, as well as a choice from 4 of Villanova's engineering programs.
Under the Dual Admissions Agreement, Eastern students will be guaranteed admission into a Bachelor's Degree program with third year (junior) status at Villanova provided that they complete the first three years of liberal arts and pre-engineering coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Because of the critical nature of prerequisites in the 3/2 curriculum, precise scheduling should be done under the consultation of Dr. Walter Huddell, Eastern's engineering representative. All students considering the 3/2 program should meet with Dr. Huddell to consider the most appropriate course sequence for the particular engineering program of interest in the first semester of their first year. Furthermore, 3/2 students in their first or second year will meet with an advisor from the appropriate department in Villanova's College of Engineering.
