Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania at Eastern University

The Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania, Eastern University chapter, consists of an active group of students who have embraced nursing education, practice, and service. Each Eastern pre-licensure BSN student is a member of the organization and personally decides on the amount of personal time that he or she wants to devote to the chapter’s activities. SNAP is not all about fund raising. The students try to gather each year to support one another and mentor the younger class. The officers and members are true examples of nursing students who embody a life of servant leadership.

RECENT NEWS AND EVENTS:

  • Some of the activities that SNAP has supported includes “Light the Night” fund raiser for Lymphoma and Leukemia research, Breast Cancer Walk, and Hearts for the Troops (candy and supplies were collected and sent to soldiers in Afghanistan to celebrate Valentine’s Day).
  • SNAP has sponsored tee shirt, sweatshirt, cupcake, and pretzel sales. All proceeds from the SNAP initiatives support their endeavors.
  • This year, the goal of fundraising is to assist the students who will be traveling to El Salvador for a nursing missions trip. Each SNAP member is looking for creative ways to support the trip. Even the community is lending its support. Anthony’s Restaurant in Wayne generously offered the students 20% of the revenue from the sale of food on October 11. Besides their commitment to the community, the pizza and salads were delicious.
  • On October 25th, SNAP held an Ugliest Tie and Earrings Contest. Money collected from entrance fees will also support the SNAP activities.
