Eastern’s psychology department offers high quality, innovative teaching and mentoring from a caring faculty. Our classes integrate the Christian faith with the study of psychology. We offer a broad range of traditional psychology courses, as well as courses unique to Eastern, such as Techniques of Individual Counseling. In Eastern’s Psychology Department, we actively scrutinize psychological theory, research, and intervention through the eyes of faith.
The mission of Eastern University's Psychology Department is:
(a) To pursue excellence in teaching and research in our field of study, examining its theories from empirical, philosophical, and theological perspectives;
(b) To develop the potential of our students as Christian scholars and practitioners of psychology, preparing them for confident service to the academy, the church universal, and the local and global community; and
(c) To serve our University as competent Christian professionals and our students as caring role models and mentors. Read expanded mission statement (PDF).
