 William Yerger

Dr. Yerger received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education along with a Master's Degree in Reading from Bloomsburg University (Bloomsburg, PA). He also received his Reading Specialist and Reading Supervisor's Certification from that institution. He earned his Doctorate in Reading along with an Elementary Principal's Certificate from Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA). In addition, he received a Letter of Eligibility for Superintendent from Western Illinois University (Macomb, IL) and also received a Teacher Perceiver Certification while being an Elementary Principal in Illinois.

Dr. Yerger has been a middle school English and Language Arts Teacher, Title I Elementary and High School Teacher, Middle School Reading Specialist, District Reading Supervisor and Elementary Principal.

Dr. Yerger has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in education and reading at Western Illinois University, Penn State University, and presently directs the Student Teaching and Field Experience programs at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. He has also prepared and taught inservice courses for numerous Intermediate Units in PA. In addition, Dr. Yerger has served as a Facilitator in Positive Discipline for "Empowering People" based in Utah.

Dr. Yerger has published numerous books and journal articles while being a member of the International Reading Association, the National Council for the Teaching of Mathematics, Phi Delta Kappa, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals. Most recently he presented at the International Reading Association Convention in Orlando, Florida. He has been a consultant to over 50 school districts and intermediate Units. He has also served as President of the Susquehanna Valley Reading Council in Bloomsburg and President of the Lions Club in Macomb, IL, receiving Outstanding Service Awards for both.
