Traditional Pre-Licensure Nursing Program

New Traditional Nursing Program!
The Eastern University Department of Nursing will begin to accept applicants for admission into the pre-nursing major. The traditional pre licensure program, formally approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing in February, 2009, will admit its first class for September 2009. Admission is for the pre-nursing major only. Qualified students may apply for the nursing major during their sophomore year. Admission to pre-nursing does not guarantee admission to the nursing major. Selection for the nursing major is a competitive process and partially based on grade point average, references, and interview.
The nursing profession has a long rich history filled with caring and compassionate individuals who have been attracted to health care for a number of reasons......
Mary Anne, RN: "I went into nursing because I love people, want to help people, and enjoy sciences. Nursing incorporates all of my passions....."
Kim, RN: "I became a nurse because there is a blend of technology and caring that allows you to make a difference in someone's life every day."
Mary, RN: "Nursing is a service profession. I became a nurse, because I wanted to serve people in a unique way."
Corinne, RN: "I became a nurse, because I wanted to work with people. I was encouraged by my family who felt that I believed that I could succeed as a nurse."
