Completed applications are due February 1, 2013. The Admissions Committee issues decisions no later than early March. As space is available a second round of applications will be reviewed May 1st with an Admissions Committee decision no later than early June. International Student application must be completed no later than January 15, 2013.
Twenty students are accepted into the cohort each year.
Attendance at the residencies is mandatory. Residencies occur three times a year; September, January and May.
Providing scores for the GRE, MAT, or GMAT is a requirement for admission. Scores are not waived.
GRE, MAT or GMAT scores must be within the last five years. Testing sites do not keep records for more than five years.
The scores on the GRE, MAT and GMAT are typically inadequate if they fall below the 50th percentile. However we are careful to review the entire portfolio of the applicant. If scores are below the 50th percentile but other elements are strong an applicant may well be accepted.
Typically students are experiencing a minimum of ten to fifteen hours to complete the assignments. Time spent on course work is relative to the speed at which you read for comprehension and the expectations of individual professors.
An adjustment managing your time will be necessary when committing to the Ph.D. leadership program. Students find they need to make choices and sacrifices in their schedules for the duration of the program. View the recent video added to our website entitled; Managing Day to Day.
This calendar was designed to be sensitive to the working professional, while maintaining the integrity of Ph.D. level work. The Program is intended for "reflective practitioners," individuals who will pursue this degree online while continuing in their current responsibilities.
This is a large commitment and we encourage you to ask questions. If after your research Eastern appears to be a good fit for your needs but you need confirmation and have further questions please contact our offices and schedule an appointment to meet with the director or other appropriate faculty.
To successfully complete the Ph.D. program, students must earn 60 credits, including 51 credits in core and concentration studies and 9 credits for the dissertation proposal, dissertation and oral defense. The basic calendar framework is three years of coursework followed by research for the dissertation. We encourage students to complete everything in five years. Maximum allotted time for completion is ten years.
