Young Life Ballbach Fellows Program at Eastern
While earning a bachelor’s degree at Eastern University, students will:
- be trained through a semester-long leadership training course
- receive practical experience through a semester-long apprentice program
- experience Young Life club leadership over the course of their remaining 3 years
- travel on camp trips with their high school Young Life Group
- experience regular fellowship with other Young Life leaders through leadership meetings and retreats
At the end of a student’s Eastern experience, he/she will have:
- impacted lives of high school students for Christ
- developed valuable leadership qualities in any area of life
- experienced training in relational ministry
- been equipped for a calling to Young Life staff
Scholarship Opportunities for YL students at Eastern
There are three (3) scholarships for students involved in Young Life that can total up to $4,000 per year:
1) Any accepted student (to Eastern) involved in Young Life in high school will receive a $1,000 scholarship, based on their involvement in Young Life, when attending Eastern University. Scholarship Requirements: Submit a letter of recommendation from your local Young Life staff person to Beth Pass. %
2) Any student participating in the Leadership Training course (at Eastern) who registers the summer before enrolling at Eastern University will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarship Requirements: E-mail Beth Pass to let her know of your intended participation in that class. Students must be involved in Young Life or another Eastern-sponsored ministry to maintain this scholarship beyond the first year. %
3) The Young Life Development Program Matching Grant is a partnership between Young LIfe and Eastern University. Eastern will match any funds provided by Young Life on your behalf (up to $1,000). Scholarship Requirements:
- acceptance and enrollment at Eastern University
- completed Young Life Development Program application
- completed Young Life reference form
- completed Young Life/Church Matching form
- interview with the regional director of Young Life in the Delaware Valley
