American Chemical Society
The Eastern University American Chemical Society (ACS) Chemistry Club is actively involved with our community. We recently conducted hands-on chemistry classes called "Chemistry and Carbon Dioxide" for the fourth-grade class of Philadelphia's Barry Elementary School. In the past, we have offered a variety of hands-on chemistry classes for homeschoolers -- "Adventures in Color", "Polymers and More", and others. The club has also assisted the Frederick Douglass School in Chester, PA in purchasing supplies to start a chemistry laboratory. With the help of an IAG grant, the club assisted the building of a nature trail on campus and purchased recycling bins and a pond water testing kit.
Health and Medical Club
Health and Medical Club organizes visits and interviews with the five area medical schools, coordinates guest lectures and provides a support network for those preparing for medical and dental school.
