High Impact Training For Christian Professionals
Counseling Psychology at Eastern University offers three graduate degrees that give you the qualifications you need to thrive in various settings of the helping professions. From school offices and clinical agencies, to pastors studies, our graduates are offering real help to hurting people. While each of our programs has a different emphasis, all of our programs integrate Eastern's commitment to faith, reason and justice. Each degree program in our curriculum is grounded in our commitment to:
Christian Counseling Perspective: Without compromising our dedication to rigorous academic excellence in the field of Psychology, faculty structure coursework that reflects Christian beliefs and invites students to reflect deeply on their own beliefs and practices.
Competency-Based Learning: Eastern's diverse faculty use a competency-based training model that helps you integrate a Christian worldview with major counseling theories and best practices in the clinical field. Internships allow you to practice what you have learned under the supervision of experts.
Diversity: Instructors from many backgrounds model the application of sound multicultural counseling principles for your future work in our increasingly diverse society.
Convenience for the Adult Learner: Knowing that many of our students have commitments to family and workplace, we offer evening, late afternoon, and Saturday classes, and access to academic advisors who offer help when you need it.
Faculty Practitioners: Professors and instructors have hands-on experience in the field, combining practical skills with theoretical knowledge.
State Approved: All three tracks of the Graduate Counseling Program are Pennsylvania State approved.
