Susan Seltzer, RN, MSN, NCSN, has thirty years of experience as a nurse. She had worked in Oncology at Boston University Hospital, Cardiac Intensive Care at the National Institutes of Health and Community Health at Lankenau Hospital, before beginning the fourteen years of experience as a Certified School Nurse In the Downingtown Area School District. She obtained an MSN at West Chester University in 2002. Her thesis was on the implementation of the American Lung Association's Open Airway Asthma Education Program in the school district health curriculum.
Susan came to Eastern in 2004 and initiated program modifications to the School Health Supervisors certification Program, the School Nurse Certification Program and the Master in School Health Services Program. She is working on developing the programs for distance learning so that school nurses can access the curriculum across the state of Pennsylvania.
In 2006 Susan earned her National Certification in School Nursing. She is the only Director of school nurse certification programs in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area, who holds this national certification.
Her professional memberships include: National Association of School Nurses, Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses and Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International.
