Head Cross Country Coach
Thank you for taking the time to check out Eastern University. My name is Mike Wilson, and I am your Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. I grew up just outside of Akron, Ohio, before making my way to Eastern in January, 2007. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and a minor in Anthropology in May, 2010. The four years I spent at Eastern University as a student were four of the best years of my life, and I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to remain at Eastern and share my experiences with prospective students.
What I enjoy most about Eastern is that it is a place that will dare you to grow holistically: a place that will challenge the whole of who you are to grow into a person who actively seeks a fusion of faith, reason, and justice in every arena of life. Faculty and students alike deeply believe in the mission of the school, and all are united in a common goal of striving for excellence in the education of the whole person. I am very excited that you are considering Eastern University as an option for your college career. I look forward to working with you and discussing how you can become a part of this great place.
As a student, I was involved in many facets of campus life. One of the highlights of my college career was my involvement in Eastern Cross Country, from which I developed some of my deepest friendships. I now coach cross country here at Eastern, and I consider it an honor to be able to coach the team that I once ran for. Aside from my involvement in Eastern Athletics, I spent a year as a Resident Assistant in Hainer Hall, was a member of the Leadership Fellows Program, spent a year as a Teaching Assistant under Dr. Kenton Sparks, and started a marathoning club on campus, Run4Kenya.
If at any point you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to serving you and your family as you look into Eastern University. We would love to know more about you. Please fill out our questionnaire.
When I am not in the admissions office, you might find me out coaching or training with the cross country team, checking the scores of the latest Cleveland Indians game, or hanging out in Philadelphia with my roommates. Aside from this, I love to travel, read, and spend time with my family and friends.
