MUSIC GALA BENEFIT CONCERT APRIL 13

Save the date for the 9th Annual Music Gala Benefit Concert on Friday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. This popular concert features our faculty and students, and the Eastern University Piano Quartet, performing the best of classical and sacred music. It's held at Church of the Saviour, Wayne.  All proceeds benefit Eastern University Music Department. Tickets: $40, $30, $20 ($15- Student). For more information, please call 610.341.4397.

WRITING CENTER NOW OPEN

The Writing Center, located in Walton 205 at St. Davids, is open for appointments and walk-ins. Hours are Sunday through Thursday 6-9 p.m., Monday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.The Writing Center is available for students in the College of Arts and Sciences. EDUCATION MAJORS MEETING FEB. 13

Freshman and Sophomore Education majors in the College of Arts and Sciences who want to study abroad at one of the two new education exchange programs at either Trinity Western University in Vancouver, Canada next spring or Laidlaw College in Aukland New Zealand this coming fall are  invited to a meeting at 10 a.m., Monday February 13 in McInnis 329. These two programs offer courses guaranteed to transfer back to EU towards your education major.  Find out what courses you should NOT enroll in here in order to take them abroad BEFORE March registration. If you are interested but can't attend the meeting, contact Rena Counsellor (rcounsel@eastern.edu) for information.

GRADUATING SOON?

If you plan to graduate in March or May and have not yet filed an Intent to Graduate Form, it is not too late. To guarantee the name that you would like printed on your diploma, we must receive your form by February 24 (for March diplomas) or March 1 (for May diplomas). The form is available on the Registrar page: http://www.eastern.edu/academic/registrar/index.html. If you have questions about graduation, please contact the Associate Registrar at lbristol@eastern.edu.

PLANNING TO STUDY OFF CAMPUS?

All College of Arts and Sciences students who plan to spend a semester abroad or at a U.S.-based program must first submit an Eastern University Study Abroad/Away Clearance. Students will not be permitted to apply financial aid to any program unless they have an approved clearance on file. You don’t need to know which program you plan to attend in order to be cleared, so don’t delay! Deadlines are March 15 for fall semester and October 15 for spring semester. Please contact Lori Bristol (ext. 5010, lbristol@eastern.edu) in the Registrar’s Office with questions or to pick up clearance packets.

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES MEETS TUESDAYS

We are invited to FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) every Tuesday night at 9:30 p.m. in Harold Howard Center room 222 at St. Davids. This is a ministry that focuses on Bible study and application to everyday life. The lessons use sports as a backbone, but FCA is not just for athletes; everyone is welcome.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, the Agora Institute in partnership with the Templeton Honors College and Eastern's Office of Development will host best-selling author Os Guinness. FREE DANCE PROGRAM AT SWARTHMORE FEB. 11

On Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8PM, the Swarthmore College Faculty and Friends concert will feature new works and reconstructions of dances in African, Ballet, Flamenco, and Modern styles.
