TONY CAMPOLO IN NATIONAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHT
Eastern University's Dr. Tony Campolo is one of our most renowned faculty members, and he's in the news again. Tony Campolo' s book, Red Letter Christians, was featured in USA Today on January 29, 2008 on page 8D. The newspaper highlighted it as one of eight important books on faith and politics in America released during this election season. The book will be released nationally om Friday, Feb. 1, and is published by Regal Books.
Tony will also be a guest on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report on Monday, February 4, at 11:30PM Eastern time. If you are still awake, you might want to tune in! Dr. Campolo is a TV and radio veteran whose comments are always lively and thought-provoking.

ANNUAL MET OPERA TRIP MARCH 15
On Sat., March 15, join the Music Department for our annual OPERA Trip. We will leave McInnis parking lot on the St. Davids campus at 1:30PM to be dropped off at the Lincoln Center in New York City. This will give everyone enough time to have dinner on their own. We have tickets for the 8PM show of Verdi's LaTraviata. With a special thank you to the generosity of Student Development, EU undergraduate student tickets are just $44. The cost for all others is $65. These low prices include the Opera and round trip charter bus. Tickets are available from Colleen in the Music Office, with preference to Music majors until Jan. 31; all other students until Feb. 8. CHEERLEADING CLINIC FEB.9 
As part of their community service program, the Eastern University cheerleaders will hold a Cheerleading Clinic on Saturday, February 9 from 11-2PM on the St. Davids campus. CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER JAN. 31 and FEB. 7
The Templeton Honors College at Eastern University presents Dr. Philip Jenkins from Penn State on Thurs., Jan. 31 from 7-9PM; and Dr. Harold Heie from Gordon College on Thurs., Feb. 7 from 7-9PM. Both events will be in McInnis Auditorium, St. Davids. Dr. Philip will discuss “How the Church Dies,” the history of the destruction or removal of Christian beliefs in a particular region. Dr. Heie presents, “Respectful Conversations in the Academy,” a look at the ways Christian scholars do, or do not, engage the wider scholarly world. Free and open to the public. SPRING BREAK IN IRELAND

CAPSTONE TRIP TO ARGENTINA
A capstone course will be offered in the Spring with an emphasis on cross-cultural ministry and a 9-day trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina, during Spring break. No Spanish is required. The audition is a full class audition and interview for those auditioning for the dance major. Dance minors also take this class for leveling purposes. The class will include modern dance, ballet and at least one major jazz combination. Please bring appropriate dance shoes. No tights or socks, only bare feet will be allowed for modern. SPECIAL BULLETIN FROM THE HEALTH CENTER
A stomach virus is circulating this area and our campus. Please follow these guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. You will be sick for about 2 days, but will NOT become dehydrated without fluid for 4-6 hours.
PREVENTION:
1. Do not share drinks, food, or utensils with others.
2. Keep hands away from mouth and face.
3. Wash hands before eating, touching face, putting in contacts, and after using the bathroom.
IF YOU BECOME ILL:
1. Wash hands after each use of the toilet or vomiting.
2. Wait at least 3 hours after vomiting before starting to take sips of diluted Gatorade or ice chips.
3. Take small sips of Gatorade or flat-decaf soda every 15 minutes.
4. Begin BLAND diet of bread, rice, tea-NO fruits, vegetables for 48hrs.
5. If you have a fever over 101 or are still vomiting after 8-10 hours, seek medical attention.

DELAWARE CO. SYMPHONY FEB. 10 AND MARCH 2 
The Delaware County Symphony, under the direction of Roman Pawlowski, presents Chamber Music on Sunday, February10, at 3PM in the Meagher Theatre of the Life Center at Neumann College, Aston, PA.
