FAITH AND SCIENCE LECTURE MARCH 10
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, and the 150th anniversary of his publication on the Origin of Species. Let's talk about the impact he has made on how Christians think about science. Dr. Karl Giberson, Professor and physicist, Eastern Nazarene College Director, Forum on Faith and Science, Gordon College, and author will speak on his book, Saving Darwin: How to be a Christian and Believe in Evolution. A great course to add to your fall registration: Introduction to the City, Thursdays at 4:30p.m. (URBN 100). On March 18, the Alumni Office will celebrate its third annual Tuition Free Day from 11a.m.-2p.m. in the Dining Commons, St. Davids. This day honors all the people who have contributed to the education of current Eastern University students. Due to these generous gifts, tuition is “free” from this date on; our students receive a “hidden scholarship” every year. This event helps make us all aware of how far even a small gift can go and to thank our wonderful donors. In loving memory of Michael A. Skinner, this Artz Festival is a celebration of how creativity through personality and character reflects the glory of God. GRADUATING SOON?
All students, please check your declared graduation date, which can be accessed on E-Net Student Services under Biographical Information. If the date listed is not correct, you must contact the Associate Registrar at lbristol@eastern.edu. You will be eligible to participate in the ceremony this May if you present an approved plan to finish all coursework by May 31, 2009. If you have changed your name, please send an e-mail to Lori Bristol, lbristol@eastern.edu, stating the name that you would like to have printed on your diploma.
PLANNING TO STUDY OFF CAMPUS?
All College of Arts and Sciences students who plan to spend a semester abroad or at a U.S.-based program must first submit an Eastern University Study Abroad/Away Clearance. Students will not be permitted to apply financial aid to any program unless they have an approved clearance on file. Deadlines are October 15 for spring semester and March 15 for fall semester.
