JONATHAN ORR ESSAY CONTEST DEADLINE APRIL 3

Presented by Friends of the Library.
FIRST PRIZE:  $500; SECOND PRIZE:  $350; THIRD PRIZE:  $250
Open to EU undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Essay Topic is: You are shipwrecked on a desert island. You find a waterproof case that has been washed ashore with tools, medicine, and a copy of the Bible. The case also contains three other books. What three books would you want on this island, and why? We will be looking for well-crafted essays that use correct spelling and good grammar. Length is 400-750 words. Essays must be the original work of the applicant.  Entries must be submitted electronically to Jim Sauer at jsauer@eastern.edu. Winners will be invited to the annual Friends of the Library Dinner at Eastern University on Friday, April 17, to receive their award.

The Delaware County Symphony will present the fourth concert of its Chamber Concert Series for the 2008-2009 season on Sunday, April 5, at 3 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre at Neumann College, Aston, PA.
