Music FestivalCome to Beyond Existence, a half-day music festival sponsored by the Student Activities Board of the College of Arts and Sciences, on the Eastern University St. Davids Campus this Saturday, April 18, from 1-6p.m. at the bottom of Doane Hill. Bands include The Wrecking; Ten Shekel Shirt; Adriana's Fall; Constant Recourse; Goodnight, States; and Alice Rouse. Al Tizon, Professor at Palmer Seminary will speak. Clubs and organizations on campus will have tables to sell goods and food (much like Homecoming). The event is free and open to the public. Questions? NOMINATE BARNABAS SERVANT LEADERS BY APRIL 20

The Barnabas Servant Leadership Award, sponsored by the Barney II Foundation of River Forest, IL, is awarded annually to the junior or juniors who have demonstrated outstanding servant leadership on campus or in the community. Each recipient will receive a monetary grant and the opportunity to donate to the EU volunteer organization of her/his choice. Last year’s award winners were Adam Beach, Sasha Montes, Dante Johnson and Heather Loring. To nominate a junior  for this award, e-mail YOUR name, the NOMINEE’s name, a description of the voluntary activity on campus, in the community or church on which you base your nomination, and a description of the servant leadership qualities possessed by the candidate, to tbradley@eastern.edu. Jeff WoodcockEastern's Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and PAIDEIA, Inc. are co-hosting guest lecturer Jeff Woodcock, headmaster of Oaks Christian School in CA, on Thursday, May 14, at 7p.m. His talk, "Merit Pay and Bonus Pay as Part of School Management," will be held in the Warner Library Atrium at Eastern University, St. Davids. Jeff Woodcock has over 30 years of experience in Christian education and has served on the ACSI Accreditation Commission. Admission is free but reservations are required. Eastern University presents its annual Nonprofit Lecture with the Rev. Dr. Anthony (Tony) Campolo on Thursday, May 28, from 6-9 p.m. in the Warner Library Atrium on the campus in St. Davids. The topic, “Recession-proofing Your Nonprofit,” could not be more timely in these turbulent economic times. DanceDANCE AUDITIONS APRIL 18

Eastern University’s Major and Minor Dance Program holds auditions on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00-4:00p.m. in the Dance Studio in the Gym. A full class audition and interview for those auditioning for the dance major.  Dance minors also take this class for leveling purposes. The class will include a ballet, modern dance center and at least one major jazz combination.  Please bring appropriate dance shoes and be able to dance barefoot for modern.  Please wear dance clothing so your body can be seen. CARILLON CONCERTS SUMMER 2009

The Washington Memorial National Carillon invites us all to its 2009 Summer Concerts, every Wednesday in July and August at 7:30 p.m. The Carillon is located in Valley Forge National Park at the Washington Memorial Chapel, Route 23, Valley Forge, PA.
