Eastern News
Dear Eastern community,
Some of you are undoubtedly aware that our University was offered the opportunity to co-sponsor the Creation festivals this summer. Palmer Seminary alumnus Harry Thomas founded the Creation festivals, which have become the largest gathering of Christian young people in the States playing to 100,000 attendees in central Pennsylvania this month and 35,000 in central Washington State in July. For more on our Creation co-sponsorship, please visit the News section of our website: http://www.eastern.edu/news/releases/2008/creation09.html.
The opportunity to tell the Eastern story to the expansive Creation mailing list and “live” to 135,000 enthusiastic Christian young people is a precious gift for such a time as this, and I trust we will prove ourselves worthy stewards of the moment. One way we’ll communicate Eastern’s distinctive qualities is through a three-minute video that will run continuously at the Eastern booth. I encourage you to preview it at our new EU Media site: http://media.eastern.edu/v/1244056522/. And I encourage you to share the video link with colleagues, friends, family, churches, prospective students and donors.
Producing this video was not unlike what goes on day in and day out at this very special place, where talented people invest countless hours in pursuit of a distinctive vision. I thank all who contributed to this telling of the story, especially those whose daily performance makes the Eastern vision a reality.
With appreciation,
M. Thomas Ridington, Senior Vice President
