The American Baptist Home Mission Societies is coordinating The Penny Project to raise awareness of child poverty in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and support for programs responding to the needs of children in poverty. Inspired by the example of the youth of First Baptist Church in New London, NH, who raised 60,000 pennies to represent the number of children living in poverty in their state, we are encouraging the youth of American Baptist Churches USA to raise 14 million pennies to represent the number of children living in poverty in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Monday, Oct. 12, from 1:30-4 p.m. in the Dance Studio in the Gym. The audition is a full class audition and interview for those auditioning for the dance major. Dance minors also take this class for leveling purposes. The class will include ballet barre, modern dance combinations, and at least one major jazz combination. Please bring appropriate dance shoes and no tights or socks, only bare feet will be allowed for modern. Please wear dance clothing.
