COMMENCEMENT MAY 10
The College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on the Auxiliary Field. The ceremony for all students in the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies will begin there at 2:30 p.m. Commencement will be held on the campus at 1300 Eagle Road in St. Davids, PA. The commencement speaker is Dr. Randall Balmer, distinguished historian and professor of American religious history at Barnard College of Columbia University. The ceremony will be held outside, rain or shine. In the event of lightning or severe weather, the ceremony will be held in the Gym. Visitors may park in the main campus lots or residence hall lots along Eagle Road; security staff will be directing motorists to available parking. PALMER COMMENCEMENT MAY 17
Palmer Theological Seminary will hold its commencement on May 17 at 11 a.m. at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, located on West Cheltenham Ave. in Philadelphia. The speaker is David R. Career Services has recently migrated the old facebook group which was identified for seniors and juniors to this new group "Eastern University Office for Careers and Calling." Much of the information we will be making available in the group is relevant for sophomores and juniors seeking internships as well as job seekers. Although designed primarily for College of Arts and Sciences students, any member of the Eastern community interested in another way to stay informed about events related to Careers and Calling are welcome to join. We are also happy to publicize departmental events related to careers and/or calling which are open to all CAS students. The Delaware County Symphony welcomes musicians to audition for its 2008-2009 season. The symphony presents four chamber concerts and four symphony concerts each season. Philippines, May 11-27, 2008: Our arts-focused team will minister for two weeks among the very poor in urban and rural areas, working with a church that Prof. Bush pioneered 20 years ago.
Bolivia, May 12-27, 2008: Our team of 11 will return to Cochabamba to work with MAP, a comprehensive health agency.
Missions Forum, Oct. 22-24, 2008: Missions organizations and activities on campus, sponsored by Student Missions Fellowship (SMF).
New Orleans, Jan. 2-11, 2009: A team will do Hurricane Katrina relief and construction along the gulf coast with a local church and Habitat. Applications now available and are due Apr. 9.
