EASTERN UNIVERSITY WINS PRESIDENT'S CUP!

Eastern University captured the 2004 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) President's Cup for women's sports and for overall performance. Cabrini College won the President's Cup for men's sports.

Overall, Eastern achieved 76 percent of its possible overall President's Cup points, outdistancing Cabrini College (73.1 percent), College Misericordia (64.5 percent), Wesley College (62.6 percent), and Gwynedd-Mercy College (61.8 percent). This was the first time Eastern has won the overall Cup!

Eastern captured the PAC Championship in volleyball and men's soccer in the fall and finished as the runner-up in field hockey, women's lacrosse and golf. The Eagles advanced to the Conference semifinals in women's soccer and men's basketball, finished third in men's and women's tennis and made the PAC Tournament in softball and women's basketball.

On the women's side, Eastern achieved 81.5 percent of its possible points to win the race for the second time in the past three seasons. Cabrini finished as the runner-up with 74.4 percent, followed by Wesley (69.0 percent), Gwynedd-Mercy (68.0 percent) and Misericordia (64.3 percent).

In the men's race, the Cavaliers captured their fifth consecutive and seventh overall President's Cup. Cabrini earned 71.5 percent of its possible points. The Cavaliers won the men's lacrosse title, finished as the runners-up in cross-country and tennis, advanced to the PAC Tournament in basketball and came in fifth place in golf and soccer. Eastern finished second with 68.3 percent of its possible points, followed by Misericordia (64.8 percent), Alvernia College (57.7 percent) and Wesley (56.2 percent).

The PAC President's Cup is based on a percentage of the points a team could have earned throughout the year.
