Cold Shooting undoes Eagles
RADNOR, Pa. — Coming off Monday's home win over Cedar Crest, the Eastern
University women's basketball team was hoping to gain momentum with a strong
outing agaisnt Cabrini. The Cavaliers used 20 points from Kate Finfrock and
stifling interior defense to down the Eagles 62-37. Raya Shores lead the Eagles
with 16 points in the loss.
Cabrini used a variety of defenses to force the Eagles out of their offense
in the opening period as they opened a 12-2 lead early. After Jacey Bray
converted a three point play inside, the Cavaliers were able to stretch their
lead to 18-5. The Eagles were able to cut the lead to 10 on a three point play
from Shores, but would get no closer as Cabrini held the Eagles to 22% shooting
in the opening frame. The Cavs led 30-17 at the break.
Cabrini opened the second half on a 16-4 run and the Eagles were not able to
close the gap agaisnt the PAC South leading Cavaliers. Eastern returns to action
Saturday at Rosemont.
