Eagles Unable to Recover from Cold Start

IMMACULATA, Pa.-- Warmer temperatures outside were no help as the Eastern Women's Basketball team could not recover from a cold shooting start at Immaculata in a 58-42 PAC South loss. The Eagles, coming in off a 2-1 week, were down 15-2 six and a half minutes in and were never able to reduce the deficit to single digits. Jacey Bray led all Eastern scorers with 16.

Immaculata's Dominique Murray made all eleven of her first half free throw attempts as the Mighty Macs forged a 33-13 halftime edge. Murray finished the half with 17 points and tied her career high with 31. The Eagles shot just 5-26 in the opening frame and only took four free throws. Six three-pointers in the second half helped the Eagles to close the gap, but the inside combination of Murray and Senior Megan Legere, who finished with 11 points, kept the Eagles at bay.

Eastern returns to action Wednesday night with their final PAC game of the year at home against Alvernia College, before concluding the season with a Saturday game against Lincoln University.
