Student Life
Eastern students are provided with many opportunities to grow, in many other ways than academics. Eastern offers students athletics activities, including NCAA sports as well as intramural leagues. The Student Activities Department holds student social activities, such as dances, movie and pizza nights, concerts, and too many other things to list. The Christian Life Department supports students spiritually through the University Chaplain, the Student Chaplain Program, and new and interesting Chapel speakers each week. Residence Life
Residential living at Eastern University provides students many opportunities for choices within community expectations and standards. The University’s standards and expectations are designed to support this academic residential student community and reflect the Christian values and mission of the University. The residence life staff of trained peers as well as professionals work to provide a community of both academic and interpersonal learning as well as the beginnings of life long friendships. Resident Services maintains all activities and information regarding the residence halls. Commuter Housing provides resources for students wishing to live off campus, including available apartment listings. Sodexho manages the Dining Commons, as well as Jammin' Java and The Breezeway.
Student Services
Eastern University is committed to providing students with everything they need as they pursue their degree. Many services are offered to accommodate students professional, physical, spiritual, academic, and psychological needs. Career services provides assistance with job searches and aids in graduate school selection. Service Learning is the resource for community service projects and missions trips. CCAS supports students needs for counselors or tutors. The health center is open weekdays, and is staffed by two experienced and caring nurses and the university physician. Security protects the campus and all students 24 hours a day. Every service is committed to giving students the best experience possible.
Academics
Eastern's number one priority is the quality education of every student. Eastern is committed to training students for excellence in many different fields of study, in both Christian and secular jobs. A vast array of academic programs are offered. The Admissions Office aids students in getting started in their educational career. The Registrar's Office is the center of class schedules, and the resource for degree audits, transcripts, and all course and registration information. The Financial Aid Office provides all monetary resources, and is the source for student accounts, loans, grants, payment information, and all billing. Eastern also provides it's students with opportunities to study a semester at another school, usually in a foreign country.
Student Development
The Student Development staff is committed to students and their growth and development through their years in higher education. The staff in Student Development works with all departments on campus to enhance growth and development of students, both inside and outside the classroom. The Student Development staff is concerned with every aspect of the student experience during the college years. Staff Profiles are available to see who is caring for all of your student needs. Calendars provide important dates for academic, residence life, and student activities events. The student handbook is the source for university policies and regulations.
