Mallorie Mallorie Tull LFP '07

Communications Officer, Invisible Children, Uganda
"The Leadership Fellows Program helped me to identify my strengths and understand authentic servant leadership. It took the notions of leadership that I had coming into the program and turned them upside down, giving me the tools I needed to apply these lessons to my every day life - both during and after college."

Peder Peder Wiegner LFP '08

Peace Development Worker, Mennonite Central Committee, Kosovo
"I was challenged and encouraged to think about the concept of leadership. and it was particularly good to get the kind of teaching that LFP does .. servant leadership, modeled on Jesus' example. LFP gave me a platform to test and improve my leadership ability - the best way to improve one's leadership is through experience."

Josh Meyer LFP '07, MDiv

Assistant Pastor
"The Leadership Fellows Program significantly impacted my college experience in at least four ways. First, it was instrumental in my growth as a leader and helped to reinforce that leadership is less about the position we attain and more about the person we become. Second, it provided a context for hands-on learning that gave us the opportunity to put what we learned into practice. It was extremely valuable to have a community of fellow leaders with whom to process together, reflect on, and learn from these experiences. Third, I met some of my best friends - not just for college, but for life - while in the LFP. Finally, it served as a launching point for the spiritual formation that has shaped me not only as a leader but more importantly as a follower of Jesus. I have a much greater appreciation for and clarity of my missional vocation in Him as a result of the Leadership Fellows Program."

Melanie Kopano LFP '03, MSW

Cinical Supervisor, Residential Treatment Facility

"Many of my experiences in the leadership program served to grow my love for people. So many of my responsibilities over four years in the program required deliberately engaging others to share their stories while providing support, direction, encouragement, and friendship. I loved being in this role and found that my best experiences with "leadership" were wrapped up in meaningful conversations that motivated others to keep pressing foward. Today, in my role as a wife, friend, and clinical social worker, my favorite times look very similar to these college memories. In short, my LFP experiences helped shape me into the person I am today."

Rod Snyder Rod Snyder LFP '02

President, Young Democrats of America

"No single experience has contributed more to my personal development than the Leadership Fellows Program. When I arrived at Eastern, I was a shy kid from rural West Virginia. The LFP gave me not only the foundational principles of leadership but also the confidence to succeed in politics at the national level. As president of the Young Democrats of America, I'm responsible for developing the next generation of political leaders across the country, and I find myself using the skills and information I learned while in the LFP. The experience quite literally changed the course of my life."
