Send me an e-mail!Bettie Ann Brigham
Vice President for Student Development
Student Development
Phone: 610.341.5823
E-mail: bbrigham@eastern.edu

Hi! I am the Vice President for Student Development, Bettie Ann Brigham. I graduated from Eastern College with a B.A. in Communications and then received my M.S. in Counseling and Human Relations (with an emphasis in Higher Education) from Villanova University.  Currently I am in the dissertation phase of the Ed.D. at the University of Calgary's Graduate Department of Educational Research: Higher Education Leadership. I began my career in Student Development at Eastern as a Residence Director, became Assistant Dean, Associate Dean and then Dean of Students in 1996, and in 2004 became the Vice President of the department. Although I loved living on campus (and in fact, I lived in Hainer Hall for 15 years), I now live with my husband and two children (Allison and Jon) in Wayne, PA. I am deeply committed to Eastern University and it’s students. I believe that among the Christian colleges, Eastern is unique in many ways, allowing students a great deal of personal freedom while maintaining the essentials for Christian community. Eastern’s emphasis on caring for others as Jesus did has become a framework for an ethos within the student body that is refreshing and enjoyable, as well as challenging. My major responsibilities include managing all aspects of the residence life program, oversight of residence life staff selection, student activities, housing, and student accountability. In addition to these tangible and regularized things, I also manage the unpredictable and unexpected day to day situations that arise in our student community. Although I enjoy every aspect of my work, the two parts I like the most are working with the residence life staff and working through issues with individual students; helping them to adapt if necessary, grow as needed, and meet challenges that shape them into competent, Christ-centered adults.

TravisTravis Yoder
Housing Coordinator & Eagle Residence Hall Director
Student Development
Phone: 610-341-5840
Email: tyoder@eastern.edu

My name is Travis Yoder. I am the Residence Director of Eagle Hall/Coordinator of Housing. Born and raised in Warsaw, IN, I come to Eastern by way of Taylor University in Upland, IN. where I received my B.A. in Sociology in 2005. I worked as a warehouse manager in Indianapolis, IN immediately following college. I returned to Taylor soon after as an Assistant Residence director for 3 years. During that time I also completed my M.A. in Higher Education through Taylor.  I am excited to be a part of Eastern University’s distinguished Student Development department. The Institution’s reputation for delivering thoughtful, relevant, Christian education was what initially drew me out east. I have a passion for the University’s desire to develop the whole student, which is why the live-in residential position is worthwhile to me. The opportunity to contribute positively toward young people’s growth and maturation is full of intrinsic value.  I am lover of all things baseball and all things coffee. The Chicago Cubs are a huge passion of mine (I hope to see a World Series championship before I die). I’ve worked in coffee shops all through high school, college, and graduate work as a side job. As a result, I am a firm believer that there are few situations in this world in which having a cup of coffee in hand would not be a good thing. I also enjoy exploring new places, which is why I appreciate being in the Philadelphia area, as there are so many different people and places to become familiar with!
