Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be: The Alumni Association of Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
Article II: Mission
The vision laid out by Eastern University's founders states that our aim is ''The whole gospel for the whole world.'' Eastern University Alumni are living out this creed in the business world, their social world, and in their personal lives. They are making a difference for Christ in the world, responding to the love of the one who has made a difference in us, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Alumni Association, through its council, strives to develop and maintain relationships with alumni, students, and the University as a whole, support and encourage these groups in their endeavors, and extend to them the hand of fellowship. Its goals are to:
Article III: Membership and Voting
Section 1: Membership
Section 2: Voting
The privilege of participating and voting in business meetings and elections shall be offered to all members present. It shall not be contingent on the payment of dues or contributions to any fund or appeal.
Article IV: Governing Body
Section 1: The Council
The governing body of the Alumni Association shall be vested in a council which shall conduct the business of the association under this constitution.
Section 2: Voting
Each council member shall have one vote, except for the who Chairperson may vote only in the event of a tie.
Section 3: Quorom
A quorum of any scheduled meeting of the council shall be seven members, excluding the Eastern University representatives.
Section 4: Meetings
The council shall meet on alternate months. Special meetings may be called by the chairperson.

Council members must attend a minimum of 2 meetings per year in order to remain on the council.
Section 7: Duties of the Council Members
Article V: Standing Committee
Section 1: Awards Committee
The committee shall make recommendations to the council as to the recipients of the awards presented by the alumni association as hereinafter described in the constitution/charter.
Section 2: Special Events Committee
This committee shall be directly responsible for planning the activities of Homecoming Day, and other special events involving the alumni of Eastern University.
Section 3: Finance and Operations Committee
The finance and operations committee shall be responsible to the council in matters relating to the fiscal integrity of the Alumni Association. The committee shall oversee preparation of the annual council and association budget, all income and expenditure reports to the association.
Section 4: Class Reunion Committee
Assist with the 10 reunion year activities throughout the year. The primary focus will be assisting with the coordination of reunions and fundraise with the reunion years.
Section 5: Other Committees
Other committees that are necessary to meet the flexible needs of the council and association shall be formulated by the council and shall be continued or dismissed at the council's discretion.
Article VI: Area Chapters
Within the Alumni Association organization of area chapters is encouraged. An area chapter may be established by sending a letter of intent to the Alumni Council signed by no less than eight (8) alumni from the area. The council shall be unanimous in approving the establishment of the chapter. Area chapters shall elect a Chairperson to coordinate activities and record the business of their meetings, hold at least one meeting a year, and provide a means of fellowship among area alumni.
Article VII: Finances
The fiscal year shall be from July 1 to June 30. The University shall underwrite the operating expenses of the association. The budget and finance committee shall prepare an estimated budget of the association. The committee shall then meet with the administration of the University to decide jointly the amount to be budgeted.
Article VIII: Alumni Awards
Section 1: Alumnus/a of the year
The Awards Committee shall seek nominations from the alumni for this award. The award shall be based on the following:
This award shall be presented by a member of the Alumni Council at the Homecoming.
Section 2: Alumni Athletic Award
The awards committee shall seek nominations from the coaches and the athletic director regarding a male and a female athlete who best exemplify the spirit of Eastern on and off the field. The awards shall be presented by a member of the Alumni Council at the spring recognition of Eastern letter winners.
Section 3: Alumni Commencement Awards
The Awards Committee shall seek nominations from the faculty. It shall be awarded to the male and female senior who have made the greatest scholastic improvement or most significant advance during their University years. The awards shall be presented by a member of the Alumni Council.
Article IX: Class Reunions
The Alumni Association will work with the Alumni Office to sponsor class reunions.
Article X: Director of Alumni Relations
The Director of Alumni Relations acts as a liaison between the University and alumni. The Director is an ex-officio member of the Alumni Council, attends its meetings, and supports and participates in the planning of alumni and University events. The director is the coordinator of the class representative program. The class representative program consists of one to three alumni from each class who will become the contact person(s) for that class. The class representatives will be in close contact with the director, keeping classmates informed about growth and events on campus. They will partner with the alumni office to gather alumni news and assist in fundraising efforts. The Alumni Association will support and actively work with the class representatives
Article XI: Amendments to the Constitution
A proposed amendment shall be submitted in writing to the Alumni Council. Approval by two-thirds for the council shall be required for passage.
