Services
Immunizations
The Student Health Center provides routine immunizations such as: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Hepatitis A and B plus more. In certain circumstances, the Student Health Center offers other immunizations. Please call the Student Health Center at (610) 341-5955 with any questions. Students are financially responsible for the cost of the immunization.
Allergy Shots
This service is provided for students currently undergoing immunotherapy injections with a private allergy specialist. Students must submit signed orders from the allergist, their serum, and their shot schedule before they can be scheduled to receive their allergy shots. Allergy shots are given only when a physician is on premises and the student must stay for a full 30 minutes following the injections. A small administration fee is charged to cover cost of supplies.
Self-Care Center
Here you can evaluate and treat minor illness/injury symptoms. A selection of over-the-counter medications are available in the Health Center at low cost. Free pamphlets and handouts on a variety of subjects can be obtained here. A scale is also available for you to weigh in as often as you like or evaluate your BMI.
Nursing Consults
A nurse is available at the Health Center:
- 7:30am to 4pm, M, T, W, Th
- 7:30am-3pm Friday
during the spring and fall semesters to help you with any health related problems. Drop in or call 610-341-5955. In the evenings, nights, and on weekends please contact your RA or RD for assistance or go directly to the Bryn Mawr Hospital for emergencies. Take Lancaster Avenue to Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bryn Mawr). The Emergency Room number is 610-526-3577, and the ambulance number is 610-688-0450, or call 9-1-1 for all emergencies. If the problem is not an emergency, please note your options under the following sections.

Physician Services
A physician is on campus four days a week:
- Monday 10am-12:30pm
- Tuesday 1-3pm
- Wed. 2-3pm
- Thursday 9:30-11:30
There is a charge for prescriptions and lab work. Please call 610-341-5955 to make an appointment if you need to see the Physician.

Prescriptions and Equipment
Some prescription medications are available in the Health Center at a reasonable cost or will be phoned in to a local pharmacy. Equipment such as crutches, heating pads, ice packs, humidifiers, and wheelchairs may be checked out as needed.
Lab and X-Ray Services
*All lab specimens are sent to LABCORP for processing. Please let us know if your insurance provider requires use of a different laboratory.
The physician or nurse will draw blood and collect other lab specimens which are sent out to a lab for processing. If you need an X-ray, you will be sent to a radiologist nearby.
