Eastern University, a university of the liberal arts and sciences located in St. Davids Pennsylvania, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Finance. This is an eleven-month faculty appointment to the graduate and undergraduate business administration programs in the School of Management Studies. Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service to SMS and the university. Position commences September 2013.

Position Responsibilities:
Teaching-
1. Teach a required load of courses in the graduate and undergraduate business administration programs as defined in the annual covenant, modeling best practices for on-ground/blended and on-line instruction. See website for program description (http://ccgps.eastern.edu/Business-Management.page)
2. Integrate the discipline of specialization and courses with issues of faith, reason, and justice consistent with the mission and values of Eastern University.
3. Accommodate a work schedule that permits both day and evening involvement and occasional weekends, as required by the instructional schedule, and that includes teaching at the main campus in St. Davids as well as at SMS’s Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania class sites.
Scholarship-
4. Contribute to scholarly activities within the discipline of specialization. Integrate Christian faith with the theory and practice of the discipline. Provide related service to the profession and community.
5. Write and implement grant proposals for scholarships related to the program discipline.
Service-
6. As a member of the principal faculty who serve in the graduate and undergraduate business administration programs, assist with program development, curriculum revision, and program assessment.
7. Assist with preparation of departmental reports and other administrative tasks as requested.
8. Attend CCGPS and SMS meetings and events. Attend university commencement and convocation ceremonies and faculty functions and participate in other university functions as appropriate.
9. Embody values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation.
10. Seek to treat each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity, and respect, seeking a spirit of unity and harmony as we join together to achieve our common mission.
Status: Full-time, faculty, 11 month contract, tenure-track, rank commensurate with credentials and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Earned doctoral degree in finance or closely related discipline preferred
2. Professional experience appropriate to the discipline
3. Record of teaching effectiveness, preferably in non-traditional and adult education at the graduate/undergraduate level
4. Experience with online or blended teaching preferred
5. A commitment to integrating Christian faith into teaching and professional work aligned with the doctrinal statement of the university
6. Proven ability to work relationally and collaboratively with internal and external constituents
