Reporting to the Director of the Sider Center, the Coordinator of Placement oversees placement of Sider/Wallis scholars, identifies openings, appoints positions, and follow-up on assignments.
Position Responsibilities
1. Coordinates placement for students by collecting openings from Sider Center and appropriate EU/Palmer faculty; identifies/cultivates relevant assignments with churches and other organizations; gathers information from students on their interests/preferences; assigns students.
2. Regularly checks (at least twice a semester) on all Sider/Wallis scholars to see how things are going and make necessary modifications.
3. Engages in some personal (not academic) mentoring/advising.
4. Distributes and collects monthly time sheets from each scholar.
5. Embodies values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation.
6. Seeks to treat each member of the campus community with fairness, dignity and respect, seeking a spirit of unity and harmony as we join together to achieve our common mission.
Status: Staff, part-time, nonexempt (8 hrs/wk; 9 months/yr)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required: Understand the intersection of Christian faith and public policy; excellent oral and written communication; attention to administrative detail; ability to interact constructively with a wide variety of churches, organizations and individuals; effective coordinator for purposes of placement in volunteer ministry settings
