Position: Assistant Director of Admissions (CCGPS)

Eastern University, a university of the liberal arts and sciences located in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position as the Assistant Director of Admissions for the Camplolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies (CCGPS). Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions works to develop, facilitate and assist with the management of seamless processes and exceptional service for applicants to the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies programs. Key responsibilities include admissions file review, preparing acceptance letters, and generating usernames and passwords for incoming students.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Versed in all CCGPS programs to be knowledgeable about the admissions requirements, program details, changes, and other nuances.
2. Responsible for file review for CCGPS applicants (approximately 1,500 completed files yearly). Makes and posts admissions decisions and corresponding contact codes in Jenzabar/Nolij systems. Further, responsible for identification of provisional, conditional, exceptional acceptances and other status updates for files.
3. Upholds academic standards that are in line with program and FERPA requirements, audits, and university policies and procedures.
4. Processes letters for CCGPS program entering students regarding status of admissions files and admissions decisions.
5. Communicates with enrollment counselors regarding admission processes, forms needed and missing applicant credentials, in order to facilitate student enrollment.
6. Assists to oversee management of the admissions procedures and data entry of application materials.  This includes assisting the Director of Admissions in processing, managing, and tracking all applicant forms for CCGPS programs through the college-wide administrative computer systems (Jenzabar/Nolij).
7. Assists to implement organizational strategies and file management to assist the office operations, as prescribed by the Director of Admissions. Further, assists the Director of Admissions with departmental goals and objectives by providing leadership, insight, and proposed changes to existing processes and policies that will allow the CCGPS Enrollment Team to serve each academic program/department and their applicants more effectively.  
8. Assists Director of Admissions with needed communications and relations with the University’s working staff, particularly Enrollment CRM, Academic Leadership, International Student Scholar Services, and all other constituents.
9. Communicates with various support offices (i.e. Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, Administrative Computing, etc.) about GPS applicants, student data, and class starts.
10. Serves as alternative representative for the Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee, and the Financial Services Working Group.
11. Responsible for performing additional duties assigned by Director of Admissions as needed.
12. Attends functions such as Open Houses, Info Sessions, etc on behalf of CCGPS as needed. 
13. Provides quality service to students, staff, and faculty. Embodies values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation. Status:  Full-time, staff, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Positive attitude toward adult and graduate education is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, effective relational skills, and customer service orientation are essential.  Proven administrative skills are required, including attention to detail, the ability to establish priorities and attain goals, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent grammar and word-processing skills.  Experience with file management and experience in administrative computing skills is preferred (Windows XP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access).  Knowledge of Jenzabar preferred. Knowledge of higher education, and the recruitment and admissions practices of adult learners is preferred.  Proven effective relational skills are required.  It is essential that the incumbent exhibits an understanding of and support for, the University’s evangelical Christian mission.
