The Admissions Counselor will handle on and off campus recruiting and provide support to the Admissions Team in the overall planning, and execution of strategic program goals with specific tasks to include: Â
â€¢ Coordinate and conduct informational sessions, Open Houses, and presentations both on and off-campus representing the College to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, day care centers, churches, Latino community organizations, pre-schools and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Â
â€¢ Review applications for admission and assist students through the admission and enrollment process. Meet with, counsel, and register non-matriculated new students.Â
â€¢ Perform various processing and administrative related recruitment/sales activity results, including maintenance of records for new student prospects, existing student leads, organization of calendar for scheduling recruiting/sales calls, completing applications for student processing, reviewing student contacts made and status of these leads.
â€¢ Collaborate with the Admissions Team and others to develop promotional materials, including brochures, advertisement, letters, presentations, etc.
The successful candidate will have: 2+ years of experience directly related to college admissions, recruitment of students, marketing/sales, and college access program duties.
BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study is required.Â
â€¢ Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) ability to effectively write, read, and speak.
â€¢ Ability to travel up to 50 % of the week during peak times to locations in Philadelphia County and surrounding areas and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.Â
â€¢ Ability to work extended evening and weekend hours, especially during the peak travel and recruitment season.Â
â€¢ Possess strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the College in a positive way to diverse populations.
â€¢ Strong knowledge of the college admissions process to include financial assistance, orientation, event planning, and counseling.
