Austen K. DeBlois Library Interlibrary Loan Information

Interlibrary Loan

Materials not owned by Eastern University Libraries may be borrowed from another library. The various interlibrary loan services are available to Seminary students, faculty, and staff at no charge. Visit the Interlibrary Loan Services webpage to place requests.

  1. EZ Borrow accesses books from libraries in the tri-state area. Books are sent to Warner Library and can be delivered to the Seminary upon request.
  2. RapidILL supplies journal articles and chapters from books via email.
  3. Any items not available through EZ Borrow or RapidILL can be requested by a Library staff member. Fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form at the Circulation Desk or email your requests to semlibr@eastern.edu. (DO NOT use the St. Davids/Philadelphia Library request form on the webpage).

Intralibrary Loan

Items housed at Warner Library and the Curriculum Lab may be requested through the online catalog for delivery to Palmer. Items housed at Falls Center (Philly campus) and Esperanza cannot by requested. Use EZ Borrow to request these titles. Items will be sent to the requestor’s campus within 2-3 days.

SEPTLA Reciprocal Borrowing

Palmer Theological Seminary is a member of SEPTLA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Theological Library Association), which supports cooperation between theological libraries of the tri-state area. Palmer students (degree programs only) who wish to use a SEPTLA library and borrow materials must request a letter from the Library staff. A separate letter is required for each institution and for each semester. Students must present the letter and their valid E-card at the SEPTLA library when they check out. The SEPTLA library will keep the letter on file. Palmer students must abide by the circulation rules of each SEPTLA library they visit.
