Remote Access to Research Services - Proxy Service Setup
Warner Memorial Library subscribes to a number of electronic resources which are available only to current Eastern University students, faculty, and staff. Licensing agreements with the vendors of these services requires the Library to assure that only authorized members of the Eastern community have access to these on-line resources. Software to provide access to these resources permits the College to authenticate users in order to comply with our contractual agreements.
Given in the documentation here are the instructions for authenticating off-campus users to access Warner Library's web-based research tools.
AOL Users and Apple Macintosh users see important information at the bottom of this page.

Note: You need only login once per session unless you stop using the electronic resources actively for more than ten minutes.
Note: AOL Users should know that the AOL browser does not allow users to enter proxy server information. AOL Users should contact AOL User Support for information on their policies and procedures for accessing proxy services over the internet.[A possible solution for AOL Users is to download an additional non-AOL browser (preferably Netscape Navigator) to their computer and enter the proxy information into the new browser. Use the new browser with the AOL browser minimized. This has worked for some users.] Note: Apple Macintosh users should follow the instructions for the PC version of Netscape. The Macintosh version of MSIE does not support proxy services.
