Minor in Juvenile Justice Ministry

The Juvenile Justice Ministry Minor prepares people to minister holistically to youth offenders (up to age 25) and their families.  Students will develop a comprehensive approach to life-changing Christian ministry that includes trauma-informed intervention, advocacy, and personal nurture with youth offenders, returning citizens, and their families.

Certification in Secondary Education- Social Studies (7-12)

To be able to teach social studies in a Pennsylvania (PA) public secondary school, students must hold a degree in social studies or the equivalent.  In addition to completing requirements in their major, they need to fulfill secondary education requirements.  Observation and teaching in an approved classroom with guidance and evaluation is required.

This program is designed to prepare students to teach Chemistry in grades 7-12. To be able to teach chemistry in a Pennsylvania (PA) public secondary school, students must have an undergraduate major in Chemistry or the equivalent in the area of certification.  If not, students may be required to take additional courses in their major in addition to secondary education requirements. Observation and teaching in an approved classroom with guidance and evaluation is required.

Certification in Secondary Education- Biology (7-12)

This program is designed to prepare students to teach Biology in grades 7-12. Certification in Special Education Supervisor (N-12)

The successful completion the Special Education Supervisor program will prepare students to supervise special education services in the Early Childhood (Pre K-4), Middle Level (4-8), or Secondary Education (7-12) level.  The Supervisor Certification programs are offered only at the graduate level and candidates must have completed five years of satisfactory professional experience as certified teachers in the supervisory certification areas prior to application. This program can be combined with MEd in Multicultural Education or MEd in Special Education.

Certification in Special Education (Pre K-8 or 7-12)

The successful completion of this program will prepare students to teach in special education grades Pre K-8 or 7-12. The Certification in Special Education can be easily combined with MEd in Special Education. Student must hold an Instructional I or II certification in Early Childhood, Elementary or Secondary Education in order to qualify for this program.
