EASTERN UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT MAY 13
COMMENCEMENT ON TURF FIELD - NO HIGH-HEELED SHOES ALLOWED - NO
UMBRELLAS
St. Davids, PA, May 1, 2006: Eastern University's Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 13, with two ceremonies to accommodate the graduates. The College of Arts and Sciences ceremony will be at 10a.m., and the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies and Esperanza College ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m.
Commencement will be held outdoors on the new Turf Field. Please remember that
high-heel shoes are not allowed on the Turf Field, and umbrellas cannot be used during the ceremony. Check-in is at the Main Gym for students, and the Recreation Gym for faculty.
If there is lightning on the morning of Commencement, the ceremony will be cancelled. For cancellation information the day of Commencement, please visit

Dr. Tony Campolo, professor emeritus of sociology, will be the speaker at both ceremonies and will receive an honorary doctorate. A 1956 graduate of Eastern, Dr. Campolo is the founder of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE)
and the author of over 30 books. He is an internationally known speaker and advocate for social justice who has been a guest on Nightline, Larry King Live and CNN News. He hosts a radio program in England called "From Across the Pond."
On Friday, May 12, the College of Arts and Sciences will hold a barbecue at 11:30 a.m., Walton Hall. Commencement Rehearsal is at 1 p.m. in McInnis Auditorium. The Senior Commencement Dinner is at 5 p.m. in the Walton Dining Commons.
The Baccalaureate will be held Friday, May 12, at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m.
Dr. Kathryn Lee, associate professor of political science, will be the speaker.
