WE ARE ASTRONOMERS PLANETARIUM SHOW
Sept. 17-18, Sept. 24-25 and Oct.1-2
St. Davids, PA, August 26, 2010: We Are Astronomers is a 360-degree, fulldome Planetarium show that whisks visitors off on a million-mile trip into space. Produced by NSC Creative, this beautifully animated documentary is narrated by David Tennant. It will be shown at the Julia Fowler Planetarium in McInnis Hall on the Eastern University campus at 1300 Eagle Road in St. Davids on the following dates: September 17-18, 24-25, and October 1-2.
There will be two shows per night, one at 7 p.m. and one at 8 p.m.. The cost is $5 per person and by reservation only. This show is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Reserve now by sending an e-mail to planet@eastern.edu. You will receive a confirmation e-mail reply.
Over a quarter of a million people have experienced We Are Astronomers in a digital planetarium. It shows the instruments astronomers use and how technology allows for global collaboration to answer the unresolved questions of the Universe. The project is a collaboration among Armagh Planetarium, Centre For Life, INTECH Science Centre & Planetarium, National Space Centre, Our Dynamic Earth, and Royal Observatory Greenwich, Spaceport with funding from the Science and Technology Facilities Council.
Eastern University's Julia Fowler Planetarium was named the Best Place to Ponder the Heavens by Main Line Today Magazine, which wrote, "Tucked away on the bucolic campus of Eastern University, the digital, full-dome Julia Fowler Planetarium offers stunning views of the night sky. And while the staff is dedicated to teaching most of the year, they do develop special shows that run for three weekends each season."
