St. Davids, PA, June 12, 2008:  Eastern University will now be offering classes for the RN to BSN accelerated nursing program at Chester County and Mercy Suburban Hospitals.  The University is now accepting enrollment for the summer session at these two new locations.

The accelerated program is offered to Registered Nurses who are seeking to complete their degree in a fast-track mode over 20 months.  It consists of 14 courses, designed to increase an RN’s opportunities for advancement, strengthen leadership and interpersonal skills, and ethical decision-making and communication skills.  Clinical rotations are independent and students are able to select their own clinical practicum experience.

“With the addition of the Nurse Manager Certificate as well as the Association of Holistic Nurses endorsement, our graduates will be prepared to make a difference in the volatile and dynamic health care system. The Eastern BSN curriculum focuses on preparing the graduate to become a leader and change agent as well as care for individuals, families and communities through a holistic framework, that is the mind, body, and spirit,” said Mary Boylston, RN, Chair and Professor, Department of Nursing.

Students will have the opportunity to take the holistic nursing certification test upon graduation and will have completed a Certificate in Nurse Management through Sigma Theta Tau International.
