EASTERN UNIVERSITY PRESENTS FAITH AND SCIENCE LECTURE MARCH 10
Dr. Karl Giberson Internationally Known Scholar of Science and Religion to Speak
With 2009 marking such an important anniversary in the history of science and evolution, Eastern University invites Dr. Karl Giberson to open the discussion on the impact that Charles Darwin has made on how Christians think about science. His book addresses just that by exploring how and why you can believe in both God and evolution.
Dr. Karl Giberson is an international scholar on science and religion and has published over one hundred articles and reviews, in addition to four books, with a 5th under contract by Harvard University Press. He was the founding editor of Science and Theology News, and editor-in-chief of Science & Spirit Magazine from 2003-2006. His primary research focus has been on the history and sociology of the creation-evolution controversy and he has lectured all over the world on related topics. In 2006, Giberson was honored to speak at the Vatican on “America’s Ongoing Hostility to Darwinism.”
Since 1984, Dr. Karl Giberson has taught interdisciplinary honors seminars and the history of science at Eastern Nazarene College and is the director of the Forum on Faith and Science at Gordon College, and co-director of the Venice Summer School on Science and Religion.
