The inspiration for this celebration of words, music and dance was, in part, due to the fact that the 2012/2013 academic year marks the 20th anniversary of the University’s current theatre program, known for its creative spirit, willingness to take chances, and the active community of students, academics and other professionals who embody the mission of Eastern.
The show is directed by Teresa Moyer, Associate Director of Theatre at Eastern University, with musical direction by Megan Prescott-Ezickson and choreography by Kaitlyn Albone, Laura Diestler and Jazmine Bailey.
“I was blessed to be among the new group of artist-teachers who were given the opportunity to work with the talented and dedicated students of Eastern,” said Teresa Moyer, Associate Director of Theatre. “Twenty years have passed and there is now a heritage of our work together. Theatres have been born, movements in music and theatre education have sprung up and blossomed, teachers, directors, actors, singers, dancers, designers, playwrights, stage managers and technical directors, choreographers and any combination of them all are proudly sharing their work and their Eastern training as they make art all over our country and the world. This show is a celebration of that art-making, and the love and the learning that we all do here in Eastern University Theatre. Let’s Make a Scene! takes the audience on a journey of joy, hope, inspiration, exploration and love… we think the audience will enjoy the journey, be inspired, fall in love and have a little fun. What more can you ask for in a musical production?”
