The Mission of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Assessment (IERA) is to:
(1) Support the university‚Äôs efforts to develop and maintain a body of evidence that the institution is achieving its goals.
(2) Contribute to and facilitate a consistent cycle of institutional planning and renewal.
(3) Promote and contribute to a culture of decision making that is mission-driven and data informed.
The goals of this Office are to provide Eastern constituencies with complete and accurate information both to inform decision making and to demonstrate how the University is advancing its mission of ‚Äúpreparing students for thoughtful lives of Christian faith, leadership and service.‚ÄĚ To accomplish these goals, the Office collaborates across all colleges and divisions of the University and integrates data about Eastern University with institutional and student learning assessment results.¬† Areas of responsibility include management and support of the University‚Äôs strategic planning, assessment and research processes and functions, as well as monitoring of accreditation compliance.
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research and Assessment is housed in the¬†Division of Academic Affairs and led by the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness. In this role, the Associate Provost oversees the activities of three additional units critical to the institution‚Äôs assessment activities: the Office of Institutional Research, the Office of Assessment and the Office of Institutional Student Retention.
