Where is the Communications Office located?

In Ott Hall on the St. Davids campus.

Does Communications have any printing facilities?

No, printing is done by a small, select group of outside vendors. Communications functions like an on-campus advertising agency and produces print projects from concept through design. Everything is done on campus except printing.

Does Communications publicize events at Eastern University?

Yes! In fact, Communications is the official source of information about the University to the outside world. All news releases about people, events and programs are issued by the Communications Office only.

Does Communications provide photography services?

Yes, on a very limited basis, since this service is provided by one of our staff graphic designers. Call 610-341-5937 well in advance of any request to see if your request can be met, or if you need to make alternative arrangements.

How do I contact the local newspapers to tell them about my news or event?

You don't! Contact Communications and we will take it from there.

Does Communications offer internships to Eastern students?

Yes, we can accommodate two students each semester. Talk to your advisor and then contact the Executive Director of Communications at 610-341-5930 for details.

My son or daughter made the Dean's List, did you send this news to our local newspaper?

If your student filled out the News Release Form with their information and permission to publicize their achievement, then a news release was issued from our office. In compliance with the law, no news releases about students may be issued without this written permission.

My son or daughter filled out the News Release Form; when will I see their news in my local newspaper?

Please be patient. Newspapers print these news items as a free public service and so they use them when they have space and it's convenient for them. Your student's news may appear anywhere from several weeks to several months after we send it.

Who publishes Spirit Magazine?

The Communications Office publishes this Eastern University magazine twice a year, in the fall and late spring. Publication deadlines are disseminated on campus well ahead of each issue. Spirit Magazines are distributed on campus to students and faculty. They are mailed to alumni, parents, churches, donors and friends. Each issue has a circulation of about 17,000.
