What is an Annual Named Scholarship?

An annual named scholarship is a commitment made by a donor(s) to support an annual named scholarship for typically a four-year period at a set gift amount. All the gifted funds are then distributed by way of a scholarship(s) for selected student recipient(s). Often there are criteria associated with an annual named scholarship that Financial Aid utilizes as their guide to select the recipient(s) for that academic year.

What is an Endowment?

Endowed funds differ from others in that they are truly the gift that keeps giving. Instead of the entire amount of the gift being spent outright, the total amount of the gift is invested and a portion of the funds, which have been invested, is distributed by way of a scholarship(s) for selected student recipient(s). Often times there are criteria associated with an endowed scholarship that Financial Aid utilizes as their guide to select the recipient(s) for that academic year. Please consider creating an endowment for Eastern University. It is a great way to link your legacy with our future forever.
