Parents' Council
The Eastern University Parents' Council is a small group from within the Parents' Association membership that meets occasionally and supports the University programs related to Christian commitment, spiritual growth, career guidance, student activities, security, financial matters and academics.
The Parents' Council also:
Serves as an avenue of communication and information for parents of students and prospective students;- Participates in programs that foster parental involvement, most notably Family Weekend and Fall Welcome Weekend;
- Functions as a sounding board between the University, administration and parents for promoting new programs or proposed new ventures; and
- Initiates new programs for the benefit of parents, students and Eastern University.
The Parents' Council is currently involved with several projects designed to promote communication and support between parents. Each member of the council has volunteered to contact the parents of entering students to answer questions and provide information. They will also staff a Parents' Lounge at New Student Move-In Day to help those families with transition issues.
